LightReading has just published the results of their 2010/2011 Salary Survey. Not surprisingly, things are “looking up” all around and most people in the industry see, at the very least, no pay cuts from their 2009 compensation. Most people are chalking it up to a recovering economy.
Personally I think that’s only part of the story.
We also have to consider that from 2004-2008 there was a massive push towards Ethernet that echoed (faintly) the IP boom in the late 90′s. From 2008-2010 we have seen a period where Carriers were planning the best way to take advantage of that new Ethernet Infrastructure.
